Apoorvaa is a versatile vocalist, a creative composer with an energizing stage presence. Building on her strong foundation in Indian classical music, Apoorvaa experiments across different genres of music to bring something fresh-yet-familiar for her audiences.

Her digital presence boasts of multiple popular videos with millions of views. She has been invited to perform globally at prestigious events such as BMM 2024, International Yoga Day (Tel Aviv), Montalvo Center of Arts, etc.

Background

Apoorvaa has been fortunate to be born in a musical family and has been a student of music for 25+ years. She has been learning Hindustani classical music under the tutelage of her mother (Guru) Smt. Meenal Deshpande, a prominent vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana, who herself has been a disciple of Pandit (Late) Ratnakar Pai and Gaansaraswati Smt. (Late) Kishori Amonkar.

Apoorvaa has attained Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in music. She is also a recipient of the prestigious CCRT (Centre for Cultural Resources & Training) scholarship by the Government of India for her music. She likes to present and promote Indian classical music through interactive talks.

IndianRaga

Apoorvaa is a senior fellow at IndianRaga. This prestigious fellowship is awarded to artists across the globe and across different genres of performances, selected by a panel of renowned international judges. As an IndianRaga fellow, Apoorvaa got to meet and collaborate with some amazing musicians, dancers and sound designers.

Apoorvaa dabbles with lyrics, she likes to pen her life experiences and express them through music. For example, she recently produced a video about her journey of motherhood. Recently, Apoorvaa is using her creative juices towards presenting traditional Indian compositions in a fresh, contemporary sound through her project Bandish fusion.
